TIM has created a cutting-edge system for the city of Venice: the Smart Control Room, the digital heart of urban management. It is an innovative software platform designed to improve the city’s mobility and security thanks to TIM technology: 5G, IoT, Big Data, AI, and Cloud Computing. 

With hundreds of sensors, antennas, and phone cells in the network, Venice has become Italy’s first Smart City. This enables the local administration to analyze aggregated and anonymous data about the number of people in the territory, road and water public transport passages, and tourist flow. This also allows the administration to intervene promptly in emergency or critical situations.
